How long will the wick last?
With average use, the top-quality German made wick should last at least six months.
What is the wick made of?
The wick is composed of 100's of strands of glass fibre and a braided cotton outer sheath.
How do I store the bottle candle?
Store the bottle candle in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets, even when not being used. It can be stored for months or even years and will still light up, right away, when needed.
Can I use white spirit as fuel?
No. White spirit produces black smoke and toxic fumes. Use only lamp oil designated for indoor use.
Should I change the water in the bottle?
Unless the water is contaminated, there is no need to change the water inside the bottle.
How long does a litre of lamp oil last?
A litre of lamp oil will burn for around 250-270 hours.
How much does lamp oil cost?
Lamp oil in the UK costs approximately £3-4 per litre bottle.
Can I buy scented lamp oil?
Scented lamp oil is not available.
What happens if a bottle candle falls over?
If the bottle candle falls over, water will leak out, and the flame will extinguish.
What happens if the wick gets wet with water?
If the wick becomes wet with water, shake off excess water and allow it to dry completely before lighting. A wet wick may not burn properly until fully dry.
What should I use to pour lamp oil?
For a precise easy pour use a small plastic spouted medicine cup.
