Purchasing Lamp Oil
Not all lamp oils are created equal. For a reliable candle experience, purchase a recognised brand of lamp oil from a trusted seller. Lamp oil is available online and at DIY stores. Only purchase lamp oil labelled for indoor use.
Lamp Oil Classification
Lamp oil is classified as a combustible liquid. It does not spontaneously combust under normal conditions. Lamp oil is designed to burn via a wick for controlled combustion. Modern lamp oil is typically highly refined liquid paraffin, related to but distinct from solid paraffin candle wax, and is formulated for clean burning with minimal smoke and odour.
Lamp Oil Storage
Store lamp oil in a secure, cool, and dry place, out of reach of children and animals.
Bottle Candle Storage
Store a bottle candle in a cool, dry, locked location, out of reach of children and animals. Never leave a bottle candle unattended, whether lit or unlit.
Pouring Lamp Oil
For precise pouring, use a small plastic spouted medicine cup or similar type vessel. The smaller the vessel, the easier and more accurate the pour.
